The Wenatchee Dome is a large, igneous intrusion located on the southern end of Miller Street in Wenatchee, Washington. It is particularly notable in that it has a unique platy structure. Such sites are strong indicators of precious metals and gems, and can be found along fault lines, which often expose metals close to the surface where they can then be mined. The Wenatchee Dome was where the Cannon-Asamera gold mining operation was located before being closed in the 1990s, with all mining operations ceased by 1994. There was a mine entrance placed in the dome itself, which is now sealed shut by concrete, and which is visible from a nearby parking lot to the north of the dome. This entrance can be found behind an office building which used to belong to Cannon Asamara, and now belongs to the Wenatchee School District, whose employees refer to the building as "The Mine". Much of the mine activities appear to have been a strip mine to the south west of the dome, in a canyon named "Dry Gulch", and much of which has been restored by the company.
